PEER REVIEW PROCESS

All submitted manuscripts have not been published before nor submitted to other journals. All received manuscripts undergo blind review; such details as follows:

  1. Scope Screening. IKLILA editor-in-chief would check for the article's possible plagiarism detection with such software as Turnitin, under setting up of non-repository and non-bibliography form. More than 30-40% of its similarity, the manuscript would not be considered for the next screening. The editor would also screen all submitted manuscripts for their conformity to IKLILA focus and scope.
  2. Initial ScreeningThe editor-in-chief assigns manuscripts that pass initial screening to section editors. Assistant editors help the managing editor handle technical editing reviews, such as grammatical errors, citing, and paraphrasing, while the principal section editor selects a principal editorial board to initiate a blind review process of the manuscript.
  3. Content Review. A blind reviewer would critically evaluate the manuscript's content, including the title, abstract, introduction, research question, thesis argument, method of data gathering and analyzing, and discussion, and openly suggest related references that may enrich the discussion.
  4. Expert ReviewAnother blind reviewer would examine the manuscript's discussion and help contextualize it in the global context of either Islamic or Muslim community discourse.
  5. Revise the Manuscript. The author would revise based on reviewer comments (content and technical error), which will take up to two to four weeks. The section editor once again values it to question whether the revised version is appropriate. If it is so inadequate the section editor will advise the author to revise it again.
  6. Final decisionThe revised manuscript is either accepted or rejected; if the author(s) cannot make the required changes, the manuscript is rejected.
  7. GalleyThe manuscript is handed over to the journal's layout and returned to the author for proofreading and final approval.
  8. PublishedThe final version of the manuscript will be published in the latest issue of IKLILA.
