Abstract

This study aims to determine the picture story method to improve students' storytelling abilities. This study uses a qualitative method with a type of field research. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data that has been obtained is then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's theory with data reduction, data display and data verification steps. The results of this study indicate that the picture story method can improve the storytelling skills of class IV C MI Khozinatul Ulum Blora. The difference between before and after the implementation of the picture story method can be seen from the changes in values for the indicators of storytelling ability, which include story content, story details, choice of sentences/language, and fluency of storytelling. This change in values at the same time confirms that the picture story method is very effective in improving the storytelling abilities of class IV C MI Khozinatul Ulum Blora.
