Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of forming student independence through the boarding school program as an effort to assist children who still need full attention. Besides that, it is also to prevent student delinquency and to train independence from an early age with the aim of forming positive character in students. This study aims to (1) identify and describe the formation of student independence through the Ummina Islamic Elementary School boarding school program. (2) To find out what are the supports and obstacles in the formation of student independence through the Ummina Islamic Elementary School boarding school program. (3) To find out and describe the results of the formation of student independence through the Ummina Islamic Elementary School boarding school program. This study uses qualitative research methods with the type of field research (field research) to find out how the formation of student independence through the boarding school program at Ummina Islamic Elementary School. The results of the formation of student independence through the Ummina Islamic Elementary School boarding school program are quite optimal, this can be seen from the students who are able to have an awareness of independence, including intellectual independence, emotional independence, spiritual independence, and social independence
